8-week, Paid Summer Internship Program

Join our Summer Community Engagement Internship and make a difference in healthcare! This 8-week summer program is designed to build a culture of diversity and inclusion, welcoming students from underrepresented backgrounds—including people of color, LGBTQI+ individuals, immigrants, and first-generation college students.

Gain hands-on experience providing direct service on our mobile clinic, receive mentorship from healthcare professionals, and explore career development opportunities. This isn’t just an internship—it’s your launchpad to becoming a changemaker in health equity.

Learn more about our Internship Program:

  • Learn to provide health screenings, education, and referrals on our mobile clinic while gaining mentorship and career development opportunities—launching a lifelong journey of promoting health equity and serving vulnerable populations.

  • The summer internship features a structured curriculum where students explore topics such as social determinants of health, barriers to care, patient screening and education, resources for marginalized populations, and program impact evaluation.

  • This initiative aims to increase diversity among healthcare professionals, ensuring the racial and ethnic makeup of providers reflects the vibrant communities The Family Van serves.

Who Can Apply:

  • You’re 18 or older by June 1, 2025. (Post-graduate students are not eligible.)

  • You can work 30 hours/week from Monday, June 23 through Friday, August 15, 2025

  • You have your own computer and internet access

  • You are legally authorized to work in the United States
